056 Remember Him
When Abraham divided up the ram
And laid a path to make a covenant
He never thought the highest of all kings
Would walk alone and bear the curse it brings
But so it was, a covenant was made
And God alone established it by grace
For if the terms should break on either side
The one who walked alone would need to die
Remember Him
Remember Him
The highest of all kings
The deepest of all friends
Who bore our suffering
And loved us to the end
At supper time, before it all began
He took the bread and broke it in his hands
As he would be broken in the morn
As he would be lifted up and torn
Remember Him
Remember Him
The highest of all kings
The deepest of all friends
Who bore our suffering
And loved us to the end
With the cup he made a covenant
And kept the one, he made to Abraham
To the end, He showed His faithful love
And now we drink forgiveness in His blood
Remember Him
Remember Him
The highest of all kings
The deepest of all friends
Who bore our suffering
And loved us so
Remember Him
Remember Him
The highest of all kings
The deepest of all friends
Who bore our sufferings
And loved us to the end

Genesis 15:7-17
And the men who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant that they made before me,
I will make them like the calf that they cut in two and passed between its parts—
the officials of Judah, the officials of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf.
And I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives.
Their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.
Jeremiah 34:18-20 ESV
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,
and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ESV
And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Luke 22:17-20 ESV
